Hydrogen



Hydrogen is a versatile energy carrier that can be used in many areas to enable clean and sustainable energy supply. Unlike fossil fuels, hydrogen does not emit climate-harmful emissions when used, and can thus make an important contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and other pollutants.
Hydrogen technology can be used in energy supply, mobility, industry, and many other areas. In energy supply, hydrogen can be used as a storage medium for renewable energies, enabling continuous and reliable power supply. In mobility, hydrogen can serve as a fuel for fuel cell vehicles that operate on hydrogen and emit only water as exhaust. In industry, hydrogen can be used as a raw material and contribute to the production of chemical products or steel.
Hydrogen technology has enormous potential to drive the energy transition and enable sustainable energy supply. It is a forward-looking technology that can contribute to a clean and environmentally friendly economy. As a startup, we have set ourselves the goal of advancing hydrogen technology further and developing innovative solutions to enable sustainable energy supply.




Sustainable hydrogen production




As GEG, we are proud of our plan to implement green hydrogen production on an industrial scale. We firmly believe that hydrogen technology will play an important role in future energy supply and are therefore committed to sustainable and climate-friendly solutions.
Our pilot project with 60 megawatts of photovoltaic capacity is part of our strategy to promote hydrogen technology. We rely on the production of green hydrogen using renewable energy sources. Use of renewable energy sources



The use of renewable energies such as wind and solar energy for hydrogen production is becoming increasingly important. One way to produce green hydrogen is through the electrolysis of water using electricity from renewable sources. In this process, water is split into its components hydrogen and oxygen.
Wind and photovoltaic energy are important sources for generating clean electricity. The electricity from these sources can be used to provide the energy needed for electrolysis. Such systems can be particularly effective in areas with high wind and solar radiation.
In practice, the electricity generated from wind and solar power plants is used in electrolyzers to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen produced in this process is then referred to as green hydrogen, as it is produced solely using electricity from renewable sources.
GEG Green Energy Germany aims to implement a large-scale green hydrogen production using renewable energies like photovoltaics. A pilot project with 60 megawatts of photovoltaic power is intended to help develop innovative solutions for sustainable energy supply.

Hydrogen 5.0 for the Industry

In particular, photovoltaic systems offer great potential for generating clean electricity for the electrolysis of water. GEG plans to initiate a pilot project with 60 megawatts of photovoltaic power to create innovative solutions for sustainable energy supply. This is just the beginning of a long-term strategy to produce green hydrogen on an industrial scale in Turkey.

Pilot project in Sakarya, Hendek Turkey.

A 60-megawatt photovoltaic park will be built with an attached 19.6 MW gas turbine to ensure 24-hour operation of the electrolyzer. The gas turbine features the latest technology for carbon capture and storage (CCS). A 20 MW electrolyzer will be provided for the electrolysis process. GEG Green Energy Germany will transport the green hydrogen in the form of LOHC to its destination in a CO2-neutral manner.
